Running reports unattended via scheduled task

Postby sebastian.hoyer » 06 Mar 2019, 16:49

With the RapidRep Reporting CLI, it is possible to calculate and render reports automated via a Windows Scheduled Task.
It is not required, that the user is logged in and other logins do not affect the task.

To configure automated reporting, there are only 3 steps required.
1. Create and release a Report definition.
2. Create a batch file, for the reports you want to calculate and render, from RapidRep ReportRunner.

3. Create a Windows Scheduled task for this batch file
Open the Windows Task Scheduler and create a new Task, which is daily scheduled and starts the batch file you have created.

Go to the general properties of the task you have created and check the option "Run whether user is logged on or not" and "Do not store password."

With this Setup, the Reports is generated silently without user interaction and gets stored into the repository.
