The system used for handling defects (DMS) or test cases (TMS) may also be a customer-developed application.

In order for RapidRep to handle the test process with the individually developed application , the data model has to provide specific attributes (tables, relations) and must be accessible via a JDBC driver.

The necessary structural requirements for the data model are reduced to a minimum. As an example, there has to be a table for test cases, defects, test executions as well as a table that moulds the linking test execution and defects.

The names of these tables, or the tables for the identifiers, can be selected arbitrarily, since thy can be configured flexibly within RapidRep. An MS Access Database is delivered with RapidRep to demonstrate this features within a simple example.
