RapidRep can automate the execution and analysis of test cases that are entered into an external test management system.
RapidRep can be configured in a way that test cases are maintained by a test management system (TMS) while storing defects is handled by an autonomous defect management system (DMS).
The following systems are currently supported:- HP Quality Center (TMS & DMS )
- IBM ClearQuest Testmanager (TMS & DMS)
- Atlassian JIRA (DMS)
- Mantis Bugtracker (DMS)
- any database fulfilling specific attributes(TMS & DMS)
HP Quality Center ( from version 9)
HP Quality Center is probably the most popular software in the Application Delivery area. It is web based and covers both test management and defect management.
IBM Rational Quality Manager (from version 1.1)
IBM Rational Quality Manger is a central, web-based test management system. It supports test planning, test execution and defect management. The extensive reporting functionality covers each phase of the software life cycle and includes metrics.
IBM Rational ClearQuest (from version 7)
IBM Rational ClearQuest is an extensive Change Management software that provides a Test Management functionality as well as a Defect Management Functionality via its Testmanager-schema.
Mantis Bugtracker ( from version 1.1)
Mantis is a proven, web based Open-Source-System which has been designed in order to create and control defects. The easy usability was a key goal during its development.
Atlassian JIRA from (3.X)
Atalssian Pty Lt (stated 02/2009),with approx. 9.700 customers is another market leader that has been integrated into the RapidRep Test Suite.
As a purely Defect Management System, Jira covers the funcionality of a defect database and the corresponding workflow functionality for organizing bug fixing.
In-house development
The system used for handling defects (DMS) or test cases (TMS) may also be a customer-developed application.
In order for RapidRep to handle the test process with the individually developed application , the data model has to provide specific attributes (tables, relations) and must be accessible via a JDBC driver.The necessary structural requirements for the data model are reduced to a minimum. As an example, there has to be a table for test cases, defects, test executions as well as a table that moulds the linking test execution and defects.
