Accordingly, JIRA is often used in combination with a test management system, which controls test cases and test execution. The missing nteraction between JIRA and the supported test management system is handled by RapidRep. Test execution is controlled by RapidRep and documented inside the TMS.

Resulting defects are created in JIRA, using the necessary data from the TMS. Jira supports custom fields that ensure that the combination of the two systems will also fulfil the requirments of highly customizable test process.
